Special Issue on Sustainable Electrical Energy Systems

Theme: Sustainable Electrical Energy Systems
In most of the countries, renewable energy sources have touched grid parity. The key issues on increase the penetration of renewables in the electrical power mix are to have intelligent integration of the renewable energy sources in the power system network. Integration of intermittent renewable energy sources to the power system network depends on the scale of power generation. Higher capacity renewables are connected to the high voltage network and lower capacity renewables are connected in the medium and low voltage network. There are many technical challenges for integrating the renewables at higher voltage levels as well as lower voltage levels. It necessitates many technical developments, for example in power conditioning devices, micro-grid developments, modernization of distributed networks, to fulfil the necessity for demand flexibility and controllable dispatching of the power from distributed generators.

The Special Issue of the ‘International Journal of Smart Grid and Clean Energy’, (ISSN: 2315-4462 print, 2373-3594 online), DOI: 10.12720/sgce, is going to cover selected high-quality (peer reviewed) papers from the 2019 International Conference on Power, Energy and Electrical Engineering (CPEEE 2019), which is going to be held on January 26-29, 2019 at Tokyo University of Technology, Japan. The CPEEE 2019 is going to provide a forum for presenting and publishing high quality technical articles with recent developments in electrical power engineering with focus on future energy systems, smart grid, etc.

The key topics are future electrical power system planning, micro-grid with intermittent renewable energy sources, smart distributed power network, advancement in power conditioning devices required for energy systems, energy and power management,  various types of power generation resources including renewable energy sources, distribution network management and control, advanced communication technologies for smart grid system, electro-chemical and electro-mechanical energy storage / conversion systems, power system control and operation, as well as impact of increasing penetration of electric vehicles in the power system network,  etc.
High quality papers are welcome, which examine or reflect the scenarios of distinct types of electrical power and energy technologies, power conditioning devices, smart grid operation and control, communication technologies, etc. Importance may be given to electrical power conversion devices that deal with progressive / innovative technologies and which deliberate more than one of these methodologies: demonstrating experimental analysis with modelling, optimization of electrical power, renewable energy engineering modelling with suitable authentications of the results.
