Editor-in-Chief Address

Dear Authors and Readers,

Welcome to the International Journal of Smart Grid and Clean Energy (SGCE)!

Developing the Smart Grid has become an urgent global priority as its economic, environmental, and societal benefit will be enjoyed by generations to come. Although Smart Grid and Clean Energy technologies present opportunities for utilities and consumers to benefit from the efficient management of energy and carbon reduction, significant challenges need to be addressed to integrate and deploy these relatively new technologies.

I am very excited to serve as the first Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Smart Grid and Clean Energy (SGCE)and hope that the publication can enrich the readers’ experience by exposure to cross disciplinary developments in the field that they might otherwise miss.

The focus of this journal is on new and innovative integration and deployment of smart grid and clean energy technologies that can lower energy cost for consumers, achieve energy independence and reduce greenhouse emissions. Our primary goal is to bring together in one forum, the diverse, global communities from academia, industry, engineering, and administrative organizations working on smart grid and clean energy technologies for the betterment of humankind.

The journal will publish original research on theories, technologies, design, policies, and implementation of smart grid and clean energy technologies. The topical issues considered by the journal include the applications of smart grid to cyber and physical security systems, energy management systems (with application to building and home automation), plug-in vehicles and low-carbon transportation alternatives, intelligent monitoring and outage management, wide-area protection, communication and control in energy systems, smart sensors and advanced metering infrastructure, microgrids, renewable energy, energy storage and distributed energy resources.

The editorial board of the journal includes international experts on various aspects of smart grid and clean energy technologies and has a primary goal of reviewing submitted papers and deciding on publication status within three months. All papers will be blind reviewed and accepted papers will be published by the ETPublishing which will be available online (free access) and in printed version.

We look forward to your support and receiving your manuscript in the near future.

Yours sincerely,
